Us TOO PEORIA
Prostate Cancer Support Group
What can I expect at a meeting?
You can expect a warm welcome from people who have personal experience with prostate cancer. We have a sharing time from 7 to 8 PM. The women share across the hall in their own room, then we come together at 8 to learn from the featured speaker for the evening.

How long do the meetings last?
Our meetings begin promptly at 7 PM with a welcome from the moderator. A sharing time follows until 8 PM at which time the featured speaker for the evening will address the group until 9 PM.

Is there medical advice given at the meeting?
There is medical advice given at the meeting by any from the medical profession in attendance. We are not doctors and refer any medical questions to the professionals. We may, however, share our own experiences. We don't give medical advice though.

How do I contact someone from the Us TOO PEORIA steering committee?
You may click on the menu item entitled Contact Steering Committee Members. Their names and telephone numbers are available there and they will do whatever they possibly can to address your questions or comments.

How do I sign up to receive the newsletter by e-mail?
You can contact any of the Steering Committe Members or just speak with Les Barra at the welcoming table at the next meeting. We would be glad to add you to the growing list of people wishing to take advantage of this service.

Will I be "pushed" towards any one treatment option?

NO!  While everyone there has experience with prostate cancer, we all realize that it's up to you to make the decision that is right for you.  We offer information on ALL treatments available, but WILL NOT "push" anyone to accept a particular treatment option.

We provide support, edcuation and advocacy.  The decision for treatment is one that you need to make with your own medical professional that you trust.
